1.8 Twitter valid source of information?

Twitter can be a very beneficial in many ways however i think it is not best for accurate news. Twitter has had a history of not always providing accurate information. A valid source of information is one i can rely to be based on fact, sure it is a great platform for interacting and interchanging information and since it is more of a social network, information is therefore less reliable.
